Since 2007 we have been running our hugely popular 'Rock Schools'. Starting in our home town of Cheltenham the weeklong courses have become so popular that they can now be found throughout the United Kingdom.
These Rock Schools are specifically designed for 11 - 19 year olds, are held during school holidays and are a one week concentrated course where young musicians take part in masterclasses, jams, workshops and seminars under the tutelage of top musicians and educators. |

What can I say - another great year. Both Billy and Charlie come back every day buzzing from the things they have been doing. Rock School inspires them and they have great fun. They are already planning for next year.
Perhaps the greatest testament - given that they are teenagers - is that every morning they are up early, have made their packed lunches and are ready to leave on time! Thank you so much. Andrea Bailey |
Just a quick note to say "Thank you", David had a fantastic week with like minded individuals, and within those five days they had enough confidence to perform in front of an audience as individuals and also groups.
He didn't stop talking about different ideas that he had, or someone else had come up with.I can't thank you enough, this was David's first year (much to his annoyance) but he is already insisting that he attends next year's! So thanks to you and all involved for all your time, commitment and enthusiasm given to our musicians of the future.

That was the best thing I've ever done in my life - I can't believe I've got to wait 360 days until I can go back to Rock School.

In 2013 we will once again be presenting, in conjunction with Rendcomb College ....
The Frank Dutton Jazz Summer School
Following the huge success of the 2012 Summer School, Rendcomb College will once again be hosting this intensive two-day festival of jazz featuring guest tutor Eddie Parker (Loose Tubes / Bheki Mseleku).
The Summer School provides a fun and informal way for students and enthusiastic amateur adults with some playing ability (grade 3 +) to learn more about the art of jazz improvisation and ensemble playing in the beautiful setting of the Rendcomb Estate. The tutors, all of whom are respected jazz musicians in their own right, will run group sessions focusing on improvisation, ensemble and big band playing, chord reading, rhythmic skills and more, as well as tutoring students in special ‘instrument-specific’ sessions.
Other tutors include: Pete Rosser (ABRSM jazz piano examiner and trainer), Andy Hague (www.andyhague.co.uk, trumpet), Alex Steele (piano - www.alexsteele.co.uk), Dom Franks (ex-NYJO, saxes), James Agg (bass) and Matthew Jones (drums).
